StarOfService May Soon Become a Star of Market

StarOfService, a new French startup, has just raised $10M funding. The idea of the company is pretty much a copycat from it’s U.S. older brother Thumbtack. Even though Thumbtack’s business is thriving in 50 states, the company wasn’t planning on expanding itself to overseas markets and this was a perfect occasion for somebody from Europe to copy the great idea, spreading the service around before any rivals even realize.

How does it work? The platform (both StartofService and Thumbtack) lets its users make requests on many different types of services. For example, let’s say you need to find a good photographer for your wedding. It’s simple: you click on a few options on the application telling it what you’re looking for and, over the next 24 hours, professionals can send you offers. After this period, you can choose the option that suits you best, especially after looking at reviews and opinions of other users.

StarOfService is a tool which each of us will need to use at some point. Whether you need to find a guitar teacher, make-up artist or house painter, you want to choose the best option that will fit your personal requirements. Now, the whole research is done for you!

Thanks to the current funding consisting of $10M the new European service will expand to even more new markets. Presently available in Italy, Spain, Germany, U.K., Poland, Australia, Canada, Turkey, Brazil, India and France, the “student” may outdo the “master” (Thumbtack).

Thumbtack shall better watch out because, soon, there might not be a place for both of the services. Considering their expansion process, StartOfService is likely to become much stronger than it’s U.S. version.
