Top 10 Internet of Things Startups (IoT)

The IoT (“Internet of Things”) allows different types of items to connect to all interrelated networks and send/receive data. The IoT companies are becoming more and more popular these days; as such, analysts predict that their future is even brighter. Here’s a list of ten successful Internet of Things Startups.

Samsung is among the largest producers of phones, appliances, televisions, and even robots. Nowadays, the company seeks to become the leader in IoTs. The way they aim to achieve this goal is by developing a series of ARM chips for its devices. APIs, for example, will allow its devices to connect to any IoT platform customers want. The company promises to make its IoT devices ready by 2020.

Bosch is one of the best-known producers of automotive parts for appliances and software. This German company plans to connect their products with (and within) the IoT.  It will help make maintaining and monitoring devices easier. Additionally, the company has built an IoT cloud to process all that data.

PTC designs Modeling Software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools. The company is attempting to become an important IoT company through an aggressive acquisition strategy. PTC have already bought ThingWorx – an IoT application development platform – as well as Axeda. Axeda is a cloud service which connects devices and processes machine-to-machine data. The company is currently preoccupied with extensive research on a machine learning/artificial intelligence platform for analyzing data codenamed Coldlight.

Oracle wants to use databases and applications as a platform for customers in order to help manage and analyze IoT data. The company builds connections for its SQL, NoSQL and Hadoop databases. Oracle has an IoT service and an IoT cloud.

The list of Internet of Things Startups is much longer than what is presented here. All of them work hard to make IoT our reality. Specialists predict that the IoT market will be the largest device market in the world by 2019.

Google is ambitious. They invest a lot of money in IoT. For example, the company paid $3.2 billion for the acquisition of smart thermostat Nest. This program allows you to connect all user devices and create a smart-home system. Google describes their tool as a combination of fiber-optic networks and a massive public cloud.

Intel knows that processor chips are a fundamental element in the electronic world. The company intends to supply silicon for every significant investor. Intel has rolled out a variety of products to serve IoT. Quark Line, for instance, provides low-power computing for small-form-factor appliances. Intel also created Atom processors. These are ideal for rich graphic rendering. In terms of technology, Intel is making steady progress to provide us with the right technology to supply IoT.

Microsoft has created and expanded the IoT system called Suite IoT Azure. It includes an IoT Hub that allows its users to interconnect and remotely control various devices. Suite IoT Azure is a combination of streaming analytics service and machine learning. It also allows you to message the IoT devices.

Huawei, one of the most successful Chinese telecom and network vendor, made a big push for the IoT market in 2015. By releasing LiteOS a micro-operating system for IoT devices they secured their position as the leader in the Asian market. Moreover, the company has joined the Cloud Foundry, which is an open source community to help create an IoT application development platform. Huawei is planning to expand on the IoT in the U.S. as well.

IBM considers IoT a great opportunity for development. By creating Watson products, they try to inject its cognitive capabilities into IoT services. The Watson IoT platform includes a cloud-based development and production environment for applications. IBM also aims to prepare software and services tailored for specific industries and cognitive analytics.

Internet of Things companies list begins with Dell. This company prepares its infrastructure components for a world of IoT. By offering connectivity for devices and analytic platforms, they help manage IoT data. In 2014 Dell (in partnership with Intel) opened its IoT Lab in Silicon Valley.
