shoping instagram

Every Instagram user knows how annoying it is when you see an item you like, but there is no way to go to the shops’ website directly. You have to enter the companies Instagram profile, find the link in the bio and then search for the product you’re interested in all by yourself.

From today, however, this problem will no longer exist. Instagram will now show shoppable tags on photos from retail brands in the U.S Unfortunately for Android fans, this is only available for iOS users for now.

Companies can tag the products in the photos and, thanks to this, users will be able to see product details such as price, description and more pictures without leaving the app. If they are still interested in buying the product, they can tap the “Buy now” button and go directly to the website.

Instagrams plans to also add a “save” button which allows users to bookmark the product and come back to it later, so you can rethink about buying it or compare it to other products.

This new feature will make Instagram more “shopping-friendly.” It is also a solution for the companies which will no longer be tethered to using the “check link in bio” sentence under every pic they post.

This very new addition might prove a lucrative business for both Instagram and those companies actively using the platform. It provides a new opportunity for advertising and gaining clients, who initially weren’t looking for the product, but the picture grabbed their attention anyway. For Instagram, it is a chance to make some money by offering brands an option to pay for showing their shoppable photos to people who don’t follow them.

Sounds quite useful, huh? All Instagram and iOS users can check it out and let us know what you think!
